Bellarive Biography
Bellarive is a Christian pop rock band that originated in Orlando, Florida in 2009. The band consists of Sean Curran (vocals, keys, and guitar), Melissa Mage (vocals and percussion), Mike Mage (programming, guitar, and vocals), Zach Glotffelty (lead guitar), Josh Luker (bass guitar and percussion), and Kenny Werner (drums).
At the core, Bellarive is a band examining the question of what it means to be human. Their songs overflow with stories, thoughts, and conversations, all leading to the overwhelming consideration that there must be more. In their pursuit of understanding humanity, they were interrupted with an explanation -- Jesus. From this place, their first self-released EP "Being Human Project...Start Listening" was birthed in 2009. Their desire is that listeners will pause, perceive, and behold the beauty in the world around them. As they phrased it, "For we all have been beaten and bruised, but not forgotten; friends know there is still Hope. He is present".
The band signed with Sparrow Records in May 2012 and released their debut studio album, "The Heartbeat," on June 19, 2012. This album peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 17 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. Their second studio album, "Before There Was," was released on July 22, 2014. Bellarive disbanded on December 23, 2017. Their music blends indie, alternative, and ambient styles, exploring themes related to humanity and spirituality. Some of their popular tracks include "Lazarus," "Tendons (The Release)," and "Taste of Eternity".
