Who is Dan Vasc?
Daniel Vasconcelos, professionally known as Dan Vasc, is a Brazilian heavy metal singer and songwriter. He is a member of the heavy metal band Fearless, whose first full-length studio album, Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom, was released independently in 2019, following the EP Ancient Wisdom. On YouTube, Vasc is known for covers of songs by metal bands such as Sabaton and Beast in Black, as well as metal arrangements of songs originally recorded in other genres. His covers include songs associated with The Witcher franchise, such as "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher," "The Song of the White Wolf," and "Priscilla's Song," as well as "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Disney's 1998 animated film Mulan. His YouTube channel has grown to more than 1 million subscribers and over 225 million total views.
Vasc's passion for music began in early childhood, but he started working seriously on his singing in 2007. Petra, Avantasia, and DragonForce were among his early musical influences. As he became familiar with singers such as Fabio Lione, Michael Kiske, Andre Matos, and Eric Adams, he decided to develop a similarly skilled and powerful voice. He attended various courses and music schools, studying contemporary singing, classical singing, piano, music theory, and music composition, and he eventually began teaching singing to local students. He also studied music business through a course taught by Kiko Loureiro and completed Tom Hess's Music Careers Mentoring Program.
As a member of Fearless, Vasc released the EP Ancient Wisdom, which the band began distributing digitally worldwide in 2013. The release attracted international attention, and Vasc subsequently received an invitation from Juan Aneiros, producer and president of Charlemagne Productions, to appear on Charlemagne: The Omens of Death, the 2013 metal album by actor Christopher Lee. Vasc performed the role of Oliver. Following these achievements, Vasc returned to the studio with Fearless to record the band's first full-length album, Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom. After completing production, he sought a distribution agreement with record labels but did not accept offers he considered unfavorable to the band. He continued teaching singing and doing session work while pursuing his music career. In 2014, he also joined the Finnish hard rock band OD, traveling to Finland in 2015 to perform with the band and record in the studio. Due to scheduling conflicts, he later left OD to focus on his main project, Fearless.
In October 2017, following unsuccessful negotiations with multiple record companies and the death of his father from cancer, Vasc decided to build an audience independently through YouTube. His channel had approximately 4,000 subscribers at the time, and he began publishing weekly videos of his vocal performances. By 2019, the channel had grown to approximately 62,000 subscribers and more than six million views, and Vasc independently released Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom internationally on October 14, 2019.
In 2021, Vasc wrote, recorded, and produced "All Hail Friday Night Tights," the theme song for the weekly web show Friday Night Tights. The heavy metal song was inspired by the opening themes of 1980s cartoons, and its extended version, released on August 27, 2021, features electric guitars by Gabriel Belozi. The song reached No. 1 on Amazon's All Styles charts in both the US and UK for three days following its release.

His musical composition influences include Stratovarius, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Avantasia, DragonForce, Rhapsody of Fire, Manowar, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Turisas, Sabaton, Petra, Journey, Gotthard, Angra, Shaman, and composers John Williams and Hans Zimmer.
Fearless's music incorporates biblical themes. "The War of Ages" draws on the war in heaven described in Revelation 12, "Prayer of the King" is based on the biblical account of Hezekiah and Sennacherib, and "Jericho" recounts the fall of Jericho. Vasc's recordings also include Christian hymns and songs associated with Christian rock. His 2020 recording of Petra's "Beyond Belief," released on December 10, featured John Schlitt, John Lawry, and guitarist Victor the Guitar Nerd.
On April 7, 2023, Vasc released a metal arrangement of the traditional Christian hymn "Amazing Grace." He arranged and recorded all the instruments and vocals and handled production and mixing, with Tony Lindgren mastering the recording. The official video has since surpassed 22 million views on YouTube, making it one of his notable releases and demonstrating the reach of his interpretation of this Christian hymn.
In December 2023, Vasc published a video performance of his metal arrangement of "O Holy Night," featuring Victor the Guitar Nerd. The recording was released as a single on January 2, 2024. Victor performed drums, bass, electric guitars, and piano and arranged the instrumental backing. Vasc and Victor shared orchestral MIDI programming and mixing credits, while Tony Lindgren handled mastering.
In June 2025, Vasc collaborated with Eric D. July on "Glorious Death," released under the Norfrica name through Rippaverse. Vasc and July contributed vocals and shared lyric and vocal-arrangement credits. Vasc composed the music, programmed the drums and orchestra, and mixed the recording. Garrett J. Peters recorded the electric and bass guitars, and Tony Lindgren handled mastering.
