Who is Andrew Ripp?
Andrew Ripp (born Aug. 24, 1982, in Palatine, Illinois) is a pop-rock and contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Andrew Ripp crafts music that blurs traditional genre lines, fusing energetic pop rhythms with the soulful depth of R&B.
Before releasing his debut album, "Fifty Miles to Chicago," in 2008, Ripp co-wrote songs for Ryan Cabrera's 2005 album "You Stand Watching," including "Shine On," which reached No. 86 on the Billboard Hot 100. His music has also been featured on television programs including American Idol and One Tree Hill.
Ripp's second album, "She Remains the Same," was released in 2010 and produced by songwriter Dave Barnes, who encouraged Ripp's continued development as a songwriter and musician. Ripp later relocated to Nashville with his wife. His third album, "Won't Let Go," followed in 2013 and was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Charlie Peacock. The album features eleven tracks co-written by Ripp, including "Cool Ya (Nobody Loves You Like I Do)," "Just Enough," "When You Fall in Love," and "Won't Let Go." The closing track, "Rescue Me," features Grammy Award-winning guitarist and singer Vince Gill.
In 2014, Ripp released "Simple," an acoustic album featuring stripped-down versions of songs from "Won't Let Go" and a cover of Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors." He followed with the self-titled album "Andrew Ripp" in 2015 and the EPs "The Heart" (2018) and "The Soul" (2019).
In 2020, Ripp earned a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards for co-writing Zach Williams's "Rescue Story."
His 2021 album "Evergreen" included "Jericho," which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay, Christian Songs, and Hot Christian AC charts. His 2022 single "Fill My Cup" also reached No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay and Hot Christian AC charts.
In May 2024, Ripp released the single "Loves Got a Way," co-written with Rachael Lampa and Ethan Hulse. He released "Breakdown" in 2025, followed by the album "The Mercy Room" on September 26, 2025. The album features both "Loves Got a Way" and "Breakdown." In January 2026, Ripp released the single "I'd Do It Again."
As a touring artist, Ripp has performed alongside artists including Jon Foreman, NEEDTOBREATHE, Will Hoge, Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
