Cade Thompson Biography
Who is Cade Thompson?
Cade Thompson (born Jan. 25, 2001) is a contemporary Christian musician from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He developed an interest in music at an early age and eventually learned piano, guitar, and drums. After joining his church's youth worship team in sixth grade, a music mentor encouraged him to seek God through the Bible outside of a worship setting. During his early teens, Thompson began pursuing what he believed was a calling to music ministry.
After graduating from high school, Thompson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and signed with Red Street Records, the independent Christian label founded by Rascal Flatts member Jay DeMarcus. He released his debut single, "Provider," in February 2020. His follow-up single, "Every Step of the Way," became his first Top 20 Billboard Christian radio hit in August 2020.
Thompson released his debut album, Bigger Story, on Sept. 10, 2021. His second album, Empty Room, followed in 2023 and featured the singles "Good God," "Arms of Jesus," and "Empty Room." The album has surpassed 25 million streams.
Thompson continued releasing music in 2025 with "Divine Romance" and "Never Let You Go." In 2026, he released "That's What The Cross Is For," followed by "One Day At A Time," "Narrow," and "Wait On The Lord." "That's What The Cross Is For" became a Christian radio single and was nearing the Top 30 on the Christian AC charts by late July 2026. The song subsequently reached No. 29 on the Christian AC chart.
In August 2026, Thompson joined Circle Worship for "Adonai (Satisfied)." His music has accumulated more than 121 million lifetime streams.
