Harvest Bashta Biography
Who is Harvest Bashta?
Harvest Bashta is a worship leader and songwriter known for her powerful voice, deep convictions, and heart for authentic, Christ-centered worship. Based in the Atlanta, Georgia area, she has led worship in local church settings and beyond.
Raised just outside New Orleans, Louisiana, in a ministry family, Harvest grew up surrounded by worship but did not initially pursue singing. Her father was one of the pastors of their church, and her mother was part of the worship team, a group they called "the Levites." From a young age, however, her heart cry was clear. At around 10 years old, after encountering Lou Engle’s "Extreme Disciples" CD, she would shut off the lights, lie on her face, and pray over and over: "God, make me a voice." That prayer would later shape the direction of her life and ministry in unexpected ways.
Her journey into worship leading began in an unplanned moment while serving in a prayer room, where she was suddenly asked to step in when a worship leader could not come. Playing just 3 notes she knew sounded good together and singing Scripture, prayers, and whatever came to mind, what started as a simple act of obedience became a defining turning point. As she later reflected, "It was… the most exhilarating and life-changing thing that's ever happened to me, and I haven't stopped since then."
Harvest moved to Atlanta at age 20, where her brother, Daniel Bashta, 8 years her senior, heard her sing "Song Of The Lamb" for the first time and was surprised. He encouraged her to bring songs with her to Atlanta, which led to her debut EP, "Make Us Ready". The independent digital project features "Song Of The Lamb," "Make Us Ready," and "To The One." Her song "Song Of The Lamb," inspired by Moravian missionaries who sold themselves into slavery to spread the gospel, became a standout in live settings. As she described it, "This song was inspired by men who sold themselves into slavery in order to spread the gospel. That’s the type of worship I want to sing about." The song was performed alongside Third Day, with Mac Powell stepping aside to let Harvest take the lead, a moment one reviewer called a highlight of the evening.
In 2012, she married Timothy Parker and now goes by Harvest Grace Parker. The following year, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, she released her second EP, "Curtains" (2013). The project revealed a more creative and reflective side of her artistry, with songs including "Curtains," "God Demonstrates His Love," "Dwell," "Praise The Invisible," and "Only One." Songwriter Sarah Macintosh described the music as deeply moving, saying the songs "crawled right into my core and shoved a greater revelation of Christ."
Harvest has collaborated with a variety of artists, including her brother Daniel Bashta, as well as Sarah Macintosh, Young Oceans, and Matt Jackson. She was also featured on the project "Preachers", presented by GoForth Sounds and Heritage, with orchestration by The Brilliance and production from Daniel Bashta. The album emphasizes a raw and reverent approach to worship, focusing on depth and spiritual impact rather than production.
In addition to recording, Harvest has toured and led worship in a variety of settings, including alongside Third Day. Her ministry consistently emphasizes intimacy with God and a return to wholehearted, undistracted devotion. She has also encouraged young worshipers not to despise hidden places of faithfulness, emphasizing that what is cultivated in unseen devotion can become a deeply meaningful offering to God.
Today, she continues to write and lead worship, focusing on creating music that flows both for the Church and from the Church, and calling believers to a life of surrender and genuine encounter with Jesus.
