Who is ISLY?
ISLY, pronounced "eye S-L-Y," is an experimental electronic Christian worship trio based in Southern California. The name stands for "I So Love You," inspired by John 3:16, and reflects the heart of their music and mission. The group consists of members Jeremiah, Alec, and Talon. They create worship music centered on Jesus, blending modern electronic production with atmospheric sounds to support sincere, faith-driven lyrics.
The band members met through church and long-term friendships. Two of them grew up together from around age 10, and they met their drummer through a youth ministry. They credit much of their musical connection to these early relationships and their shared faith. Talon and Alec played music together throughout their childhood in youth group, family gatherings, and church settings. Jeremiah (known as JJ) joined later as a drummer, stepping in during a worship service. The trio values collaboration, with each member contributing unique strengths to the creative process. Talon is the son of Pastor Matthew Pollock, founder of The Way Family Church in Murrieta, California, where Talon regularly ministers and preaches, reflecting the band's deep connection to their local faith community.
ISLY releases music independently, maintaining full ownership and creative control over their work. The group believes music is a way to honor God rather than self-promotion. They aim to create songs that inspire worship, encourage personal faith, and give glory to God. In a 2022 Creators Connect Podcast, one member shared, "We see our music as a mirror, pointing all the energy straight up to God. It's not about us; it's about serving and giving glory to Him." The band also discussed their approach to life and ministry, saying, "As Christians, we have to be so intentional with our lives in knowing what fights to enter, what's worth fighting for. We're not wasting all of our energy on things that don't matter, because when it comes to things that actually matter, you'll have that strength. We believe in the simplicity of, almost like minimalism in our lives. Jesus taught a very minimal lifestyle... let's just focus on things that actually matter, which is spending time with God, going to church, spending time with our families, and then doing what we're called to do. God will give us our gifts, but it's our job to steward what He's given us." Their message and mission are grounded in this belief, reaching listeners who appreciate both innovative sound and genuine Christian purpose.
