Who is Planetshakers?
Planetshakers is an Australian contemporary Christian music band with a passion for uniting generations in worship. Their mission is to help people encounter God, be transformed by His presence, and live empowered lives that make a difference.
The band originated in Adelaide, South Australia, forming in 1997 at the first Planetshakers Conference. Now based in Melbourne, Victoria, Planetshakers operates under the leadership of senior pastors Russell and Samantha Evans. What began as a local church worship team has grown into an internationally recognized worship movement known for energetic and vibrant worship experiences.
Planetshakers has released more than 30 albums, including both live and studio projects that capture the atmosphere of their worship services. Popular releases include Endless Praise (2014), Outback Worship Sessions (2015), and Heaven on Earth (2018). Their song Nothing Is Impossible, first released in 2011 and re-recorded in 2015, has become one of their most beloved songs, inspiring listeners worldwide. Since 2018, the band has continued creating new music, including Winning Team (2024), Winning Team: Songs For Church (Live) (2024), and Weight of Heaven (2025). They have also released singles such as Praise On It and You Have My Heart, maintaining a fresh and contemporary sound.
Their music blends contemporary Christian rock, pop, and electronic elements, appealing to a wide range of listeners. Planetshakers’ albums and singles regularly appear on Billboard’s Christian Albums and Christian Songs charts, and they have received multiple Dove Award nominations, including recognition for Praise and Worship Album of the Year and Long Form Video of the Year.
The band continues to tour globally, leading worship at conferences, festivals, and church events, including the Planetshakers Malaysia Conference and the Abundance Tour in Manila. With high-energy worship and faith-centered lyrics, Planetshakers remains a strong and influential presence in contemporary Christian music.
