Rush Of Fools Biography

Who is Rush Of Fools?

Rush of Fools is an American Christian rock and contemporary Christian music band formed in 2005 in Birmingham, Alabama. Taking their name from 1 Corinthians 1:26 to 31, the band began as a local worship group before quickly stepping onto the national stage.

Their breakthrough came in 2007 with the release of their self titled debut album on Midas Records. The lead single, "Undo," co written with producer Scott Davis, became the most played song of 2007 on Adult Contemporary Christian radio according to R&R magazine. It held the No. 1 position for 5 consecutive weeks on Christian charts and earned ASCAP Song of the Year honors. The follow up single, "When Our Hearts Sing," was also among the most played Christian songs of the year, establishing the band as one of the most popular new acts in Christian radio at the time.

Over the next several years, Rush of Fools released:

* 2007: Rush of Fools
* 2008: Wonder of the World featuring "Lose It All"
* 2011: We Once Were released through eOne Christian Music, led by "Grace Found Me"
* 2014: Carry Us Now released through Provident

Their music charted on both Christian and Billboard 200 charts, with early albums reaching the Top 10 on the US Christian Albums chart.

In addition to their studio catalog, the band has continued releasing music in recent years, including the 2019 non album singles "Holy Spirit" and "Lion and the Lamb," followed by 2020's "Build My Life." In January 2026, they released a live album titled *Live in Gatlinburg*, capturing the energy and worship atmosphere that has long defined their concerts.

The band's journey has often been described in "3 acts." Act 1 marked the rapid rise following "Undo," when a part time worship project became a full time national touring ministry. Act 2 brought personal and professional challenges, including label changes and seasons of uncertainty. Reflecting on that time, the band has shared there were days when they "honestly didn't know how God would carry us forward," yet they learned to trust in His sovereignty through the chaos.

Act 3 ushered in renewed focus and perspective. Their 2014 album *Carry Us Now* captures that season. The single "Held In Your Hands" declares, "I know, Jesus, I can trust You… in all things You are good," while the title track affirms, "All our yesterdays and all of our tomorrows are held in Your hands." Songs like "Your Will Be Done" and "Power In The Blood" emphasize surrender, redemption, and hope.

Rush of Fools received multiple Dove Award nominations in 2008, including New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Undo."

Current members include Wes Willis, Kevin Huguley, Abe Heinkel, Grant Harbin, and Grant Austin, with several former members contributing throughout the band's history.

From a small Alabama worship band to a nationally recognized Christian rock act, Rush of Fools has built a catalog marked by perseverance, honest faith, and songs that continue to encourage listeners. As they have expressed in their own words, it is Jesus who carries them, and that remains the central message behind their music.
