Shane & Shane Biography
Texas-based Christian praise and worship duo Shane & Shane, formed in 2001, consists of Shane Barnard and Shane Everett. The pair previously led worship at Breakaway Ministries at Texas A&M University. After releasing a few albums, they transitioned to full-time music, creating a substantial body of work inspired by their faith. Their music aims to both worship God and encourage others to deepen their love for Him.
Shane Barnard
Christianity came alive for Barnard in ninth grade through his Bible church youth group. He soon began leading worship himself. At Texas A&M, Barnard launched his recording career.
Before teaming up with Everett, Barnard collaborated with Caleb Carruth on the limited-release album "Salvation Still Remains." Reportedly, Barnard and Carruth maximized their studio time investment by recording it in just two days, fueled by friends and family who provided them with food and drinks. Their partnership amicably ended due to differing musical directions.
Shane married CCM singer Bethany Dillon on March 29, 2008.
Shane Everett
Everett, born in Dallas and later moving to Garland, Texas, also attended Texas A&M. After playing in the bar band 4D2, a life-changing encounter with God led him to Central Baptist Church, where he became a Christian. Soon after, he met Barnard and joined the weekly student-led praise and worship service at Texas A&M.
The band initially began with Barnard performing solo, but Everett's involvement grew over time. With the release of their first album "Psalms," (2002) the duo officially became known as Shane & Shane.
Other Band Members
Taylor Johnson started as a guitarist for Todd Agnew. After Agnew relocated, Taylor stayed on with the Robbie Seay Band. When the Robbie Seay Band toured with Shane & Shane during David Crowder Band's "A Collision Tour," he played guitar for both bands before joining Shane & Shane full-time. Taylor later played full-time with the David Crowder Band but has since returned to Shane & Shane.
They are often joined by their drummer and manager, Joey Parish.
