Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil, an alternative rock band formed in 2010 by veteran Christian artists Steve Taylor (vocals), Jimmy Abegg (guitar), John Mark Painter (bass), and Peter Furler (drums). Longtime friends and collaborators, they came together to rediscover the thrill of creating music free from industry limitations.
Steve Taylor has enjoyed a diverse career encompassing filmmaking, writing, producing, and recording artistry. Beginning his recording career in 1983, Steve sold over one million albums worldwide and earned Grammy nominations for his albums Meltdown and Squint. He's renowned as the only artist to win Billboard Music Video Awards twice for self-directed music videos. As a concert artist, Steve and his band headlined four international tours, including acclaimed performances at prestigious venues like L.A.’s Universal Amphitheater and London’s Hammersmith Odeon. He also served as lead singer/co-writer in the MCA-signed modern rock band Chagall Guevara.
Steve's work as a music video director and filmmaker has garnered him numerous awards, including Billboard Music Video Awards, Dove Awards, Telly Awards, and Addy Awards. Additionally, his production credits include the Platinum-certified Sixpence None The Richer and three Gold-certified albums for the Newsboys: Going Public, Take Me To Your Leader, and Adoration, all of which received Grammy nominations. Steve's songwriting contributions for the Newsboys have left a lasting impact on their discography. His production efforts extend to television programs and films such as Pump Up The Volume, She’s All That, Snow Day, and Here On Earth.

In 2016, they collaborated with Danielson to release the EP Wow to the Deadness (produced by Steve Albini). This project further demonstrated their commitment to innovative and bold music production, blending elements of punk, rock, and experimental sounds.
