Informants Biography
Informants, a Canadian indie worship band formed in St. Johns, Newfoundland, in 2011, quickly garnered a passionate following across Canada and beyond. Drawing from a diverse range of musical influences—from inspirational worship to hardcore—the band aims to create a worship atmosphere where people can deeply experience the presence of God. Their music emphasizes worship as foundational, with mission always following.
The original lineup consisted of Christian Emmanuel Victory (vocals, guitar, piano), Dion Jacobs (bass guitar), DJ Wheeler (drums), Joshua Parmiter (guitars/violin), and Todd Tremblett (guitars). Their early work included the 2011 EP "Worship and Mission" and the 2014 EP "Ezekiel," which earned them a GMA Canada Covenant Award for Best New Artist in 2014 and an East Coast Music Award for Gospel Album of the Year in 2016. Their 2017 full-length album, "Uprising," featured the Top 10 Canadian Christian radio single "Courage" and was awarded Rock Album of the Year at the 2018 GMA Canada Covenant Awards.
In August of 2018, the band rebranded as Informants Worship, marking a new chapter with the highly anticipated release of “Show Me.” Co-written by founding members Christian Victory and Joshua Parmiter, along with producer Pete Mol, “Show Me” introduced a more pop-oriented sound while retaining elements of their earlier work. The song explores the nature of God and what He has done, expressing a heartfelt desire for deeper understanding and purpose.
The addition of Joel Payne (drums) and Alex Stephen (keys, synth, vocals) further solidified the band's identity as a worship collective. Both founding member Christian Victory and the band's press releases emphasize their core mission: integrating worship with mission.
