ELEVATION RHYTHM Biography
ELEVATION RHYTHM, formed in 2019, is the expression of worship emerging from the youth ministry at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Sharing the same church home as Elevation Worship, ELEVATION RHYTHM believes in writing and recording songs that engage hearts and bring a new cadence of hope to this generation. While their sound may be the anthem of the next generation, the collective is deeply rooted in the Word of God. Their mantra is "Jesus is Lord," and their drive is the love of Christ. Pure and simple.
Their latest release, This Is The Gospel (2023), is not just an artistic endeavor but a testament of faith, laying out plain truth for a world desperate for something to believe in. A musical expression of Elevation Church, led by pastor Steven Furtick, ELEVATION RHYTHM was born from the church’s high-energy Wednesday night youth gatherings. The ensemble has evolved from a student ministry worship band into a dynamic live force, supporting artists like Lecrae on tour and sharing stages with Elevation Worship.
The concept for This Is The Gospel originated with the group’s lead architect and primary producer, Josh Holiday, during the "Elevation Nights" tour. Holiday felt a call to create music that would be foundational for the next generation in their faith journey. The album was born from a writing camp with key collaborators and a live recording session in a small, nondescript room, filled with raw, imperfect worship. This process underscores the album's authenticity and commitment to truth.
Tracks like "Good News" and "PRAISES" set the tone with dramatic and energetic expressions of faith, while songs like "Wind of Love" and "Streetlights" provide gentle reminders of God’s mercy and the call to return to Him. The title track, "This Is The Gospel," simplifies the saving message of Jesus, emphasizing the completeness of the Gospel story.
This Is The Gospel is wrapped in timeless melodies and a percussion-heavy, choir-assisted framework, designed to offer an extended shelf life. It is meant to be consumed in its entirety, communicating the full scope of what it looks like to place faith in Jesus. Before This Is The Gospel, ELEVATION RHYTHM released their first full-length album, Growing Pains (2022), featuring songs like "QUIET" and the No. 1 Christian CHR / HOT AC radio single, "NEVER WALK AWAY" (Deezer) (MusicBrainz). Additionally, they have released several singles, including "WILD LOVE" (2019), "WALK ON WATER" (2020), "IYKYK" (2021), and "OVER & OVER" (2022).
