Who is ELEVATION RHYTHM?
ELEVATION RHYTHM, formed in 2019, is the expression of worship emerging from the youth ministry at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Sharing the same church home as Elevation Worship, ELEVATION RHYTHM believes in writing and recording songs that engage hearts and bring a new cadence of hope to this generation. While their sound may be the anthem of the next generation, the collective is deeply rooted in the Word of God. Their mantra is "Jesus is Lord," and their drive is the love of Christ. Pure and simple.
Born from Elevation Church's high-energy youth gatherings, ELEVATION RHYTHM has evolved from a student ministry worship band into a prominent recording and touring collective. Rather than centering on one permanent front person, the group features an evolving cast of vocalists, musicians and songwriters united by the same mission. Songwriter and producer Josh Holiday has remained one of the primary creative forces behind its music.
Before releasing its first full-length album, ELEVATION RHYTHM introduced its energetic blend of pop, hip-hop and contemporary worship through singles including "WILD LOVE" in 2019, "WALK ON WATER" in 2020 and "IYKYK" in 2021.
The collective released its first full-length album, Growing Pains, in 2022. Featuring songs such as "QUIET," "FAKE LOVE," "OVER & OVER" and the No. 1 Christian CHR / Hot AC radio single "NEVER WALK AWAY," the album explored the questions, uncertainties and spiritual growth that accompany the journey into an adult faith.
This Is The Gospel followed in 2023. More than an artistic endeavor, the album was created as a declaration of faith, presenting foundational truth to a generation searching for something to believe in. The concept originated with Holiday during the Elevation Nights tour, when he felt called to create music that could help establish the next generation in its faith journey.
The album grew out of a collaborative writing camp and was recorded live in a small, nondescript room. The setting allowed the collective to capture raw, imperfect and spontaneous expressions of worship rather than creating a highly polished concert production.
Songs such as "Good News" and "PRAISES" set the tone with dramatic and energetic expressions of faith, while "Wind of Love" and "Streetlights" offer gentler reminders of God's mercy and the invitation to return to Him. The title track, "This Is The Gospel," presents the saving message of Jesus in a direct and accessible way, emphasizing the completeness of the Gospel story.
Wrapped in timeless melodies and a percussion-heavy, choir-assisted framework, This Is The Gospel was designed to be experienced as a complete project. Together, its songs communicate the full scope of what it means to place one's faith in Jesus and established the foundation for ELEVATION RHYTHM's future creative work.
The project's reach expanded through "PRAISES (remix)," a collaboration with Forrest Frank that became another No. 1 Christian CHR / Hot AC single for the collective. Other notable collaborations have included Gracie Binion on "GOODBYE YESTERDAY," Tiffany Hudson and Abbie Gamboa on "At the Altar," and Lizzie Morgan on "THANK GOD I'M FREE."
In 2025, ELEVATION RHYTHM released its third full-length album, Victory Lap. While This Is The Gospel focused on the foundation of Christian belief, Victory Lap explored the freedom, perseverance and joy that follow a decision to live for Jesus.
The album includes "GOODBYE YESTERDAY," "At the Altar" and "Sing of Your Love," along with appearances by Joe L Barnes, Gracie Binion, Tiffany Hudson, Zach Webb, Charles Weems and Blessing Offor. Like its predecessor, Victory Lap was captured in a makeshift studio without an audience, preserving the raw and immediate character that has become part of the collective's identity.
In 2026, ELEVATION RHYTHM followed with WASHED, a nine-song live album centered on redemption, freedom, belonging and spiritual renewal. Built around its joyful title track, the project celebrates the belief that God's grace cleanses, restores and makes people new. WASHED also includes collaborations with Lizzie Morgan, Josiah Queen, Jonathan Stamper, SEU Worship and Averly Morillo, who appears on "CASA DEL PADRE."
Beyond its recordings, ELEVATION RHYTHM has grown into a significant live presence. The collective has supported artists such as Lecrae and Forrest Frank, appeared alongside Elevation Worship and Pastor Steven Furtick during Elevation Nights, and launched its own headlining tours.
ELEVATION RHYTHM represents a beautiful relationship with the next generation, sharing the journey, asking the same questions, and seeking the same truths. As Josh Holiday puts it, "ELEVATION RHYTHM is more of a spirit than it is a face. It's the unity, the love, the heart for these songs, and this album is what we'll always be about. "
