UK worship singer-songwriter & producer Martin Smith (born July 6, 1970) has been a significant figure in contemporary Christian music for the last 3 decades. From "Waiting Here for You" and "Back to the Start" to "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" and "History Maker," Martin’s songs have connected generations and inspired and influenced worship leaders and worshippers alike.
Martin Smith first rose to prominence as the frontman for the groundbreaking band Delirious?, which played a pivotal role in the modern worship movement. With Delirious?, he produced numerous albums that left a lasting legacy on contemporary Christian music, including Cutting Edge (1993-1996), King of Fools (1997), Mezzamorphis (1999), Glo (2000), Audio Lessonover? (2001), Touch (2002), World Service (2003), Mission Bell (2005), and Kingdom of Comfort (2008). The band's influence is marked by hits like "Deeper," "Majesty," and "My Glorious."
After Delirious? disbanded in 2009, Martin continued to impact the music scene as the lead singer of Army Of Bones, further showcasing his versatility and dedication to worship music. His solo career has been equally influential, with albums such as God's Great Dance Floor (2013), Back to the Start (2014), and Iron Lung (2019).
In 2022, Martin released his album Dancing In The Fire, bringing a modern British-rock sound to the CCM and worship landscape.
