Who is bodie?
Bodie Kuljian, known professionally as bodie, is a Christian pop and alternative artist from Southern California blending pop, rock, hip-hop, and worship music.
Born July 12, 1993, bodie grew up in the Los Angeles area in a musical family and began writing and producing his own songs at age 11. At 15, he was diagnosed with alopecia, losing all of his hair and facing illness, depression, and anxiety, an experience that deepened his authenticity and turned his struggle into a drive for songwriting. He graduated from Vanguard University with a B.A. in Worship Arts and went on to work as a worship leader, graphic designer, and photographer while building his independent music career. He began releasing music in 2017, drawing from personal experiences, family life, faith, and the everyday struggles and triumphs of life.
National audiences first discovered bodie during Season 22 of NBC's The Voice in 2022, where he finished as the runner-up on Team Blake Shelton. His powerful finale performance of Brandon Lake's "Gratitude" went viral, marking a turning point in both his career and his public expression of faith. Though bodie had always been a committed Christian and active worship leader, he initially hesitated to make Christian music his professional focus. "I'd always loved Jesus, but I was afraid to switch to Christian music," he later shared. "I didn't want to lose the audience of people who hated Jesus and hated the Church." That changed during a moment of prayer when, as he describes it, the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to him: "You don't choose who you reach. I choose that." The conviction ultimately led him to fully commit to Christian music.
In April 2024, bodie signed with Provident Label Group and released his label debut EP, Happy to Be Here, on September 27, 2024. The project featured standout singles "RIP" and "Liar Liar," as well as "Whisper and the Wind," which became a Top 10 Christian radio hit and accumulated millions of streams. He followed with the worship-focused bodie Song Session and the remix EP Happier to Be Here in early 2025, before releasing his first full-length studio album, No Skips, on September 5, 2025. With the release of "Almost Famous" in May 2026, bodie offered a reflective, guitar-driven track that explores the tension between ambition, purpose, and faith, with the honesty and transparency that have become hallmarks of his songwriting.
Alongside his recording career, bodie remains active in worship ministry through Oceans Church in Irvine, California. Married to Royale and a father of three, he brings authenticity, transparency, and conviction to his music, blending modern influences with an unwavering faith in Jesus. His unique style, compelling testimony, and heartfelt songwriting have established him as one of Christian music's most distinctive and fast-rising voices.
