Citizens & Saints Biography
Citizens (formerly known as Citizens & Saints) is a Christian rock band from Seattle, formed in 2011. Founded by vocalist Zach Bolen along with Nathan Furtado, Adam Skatula, Brian Eichelberger, and Spencer Abbott, the band initially partnered with Mars Hill Church. In 2013, they released their debut EP and album titled "Citizens" under that partnership. Subsequently, the band adopted the name Citizens & Saints for a period, releasing albums like "Join the Triumph" in 2014 and "A Mirror Dimly" in 2016.
In 2019, the band reverted to being known simply as Citizens and independently released the crowdfunded album "Fear" through Humble Beast. Later that year, they also released the EP "Waking Up to Never Die." Their latest album, "i can't find the edges of you," was released in February 2023. On March 22, 2024, the band released the EP single "Hold Him High" under Running Club Records.
Throughout their career, Citizens (formerly Citizens & Saints) has maintained a distinctive style of melody-driven and emotionally charged faith-based alternative rock. Their music incorporates elements of post-punk, praise & worship, and electronic indie rock, all while keeping a focus on glorifying God and uplifting Jesus' church through their lyrics.
