Kings Kaleidoscope Biography
Kings Kaleidoscope is a Christian indie band based in Seattle, WA, known for its creative blend of rock, pop, EDM, and hip hop influences. Led by singer/songwriter Chadwick "Chad" Gardner, the group formed in 2010 at a Mars Hill Church plant on the University of Washington campus, where Gardner served as a worship leader.
The band, composed of approximately a dozen musicians, features a string trio, a horns section, and two drum kits—along with a variety of other instruments. Their music is characterized by its personal, emotional, and faith-based lyrical content.
The current lineup includes Chad Gardner on vocals, guitar, keyboards, production, and tambourine. Daniel Steele handles drums, synth, programming, and vocals. Zach Boyd contributes with guitar, cello, sampling, and vocals. Beserat Tafesse plays trombone, trumpet, euphonium, and provides vocals, while John McNeill plays bass, synth, and also provides vocals. JJ Kim plays guitar, bass, keys, and contributes vocals. Former part-time and touring members who continue to contribute include Ryan Ponten, James Kim, Julianne Smith, Nadia Essenpreis, Andrew Nyte, John Platter, Zawadi Morrow, and Lindsay Gardner. Chad's wife, Alex Gardner, manages the band's operations and finances.
